Endangered Animals.

There are more than 5000 endangered animal species in the world and at least one species dies out and becomes extinct every year. It happens because of different reasons, for example: pollution ,global warming, deforestation and illegal hunting or poaching.

There are only 300 gorillas left in the world because of deforestation and hunting. People cut down rainforests for farming and gorillas lose their natural habitat. In addition, poachers hunt them for their meat and fur.

Some animals suffer because of pollution. Factories and plants pour their chemical waste into rivers and seas. Pollution poisons fish and other sea creatures so they die. For example, pink river dolphins swim in polluted waters and sometimes get caught in fishermen's nets so we lose 10 per cent of these clever creatures every year.

People leave rubbish and animals get caught in it. For example sea turtles mistake plastic bags for jellyfish and die. What is more, tourists disturb their habitats and damage their nests by accident.

In my opinion, we must do something about all these. I think, people must stop polluting the planet. It is necessary to collect rubbish for recycling and provide better filter system for factories and plants. We must protect wild life and forests. We must take care of animals and plant trees. We mustn't forget that the Earth is our home and if we don't do anything to protect the environment only people and cockroaches will remain on it in the future.
