Practically all people have to work in order to earn a living. There are a lot of different jobs and professions in the modern world. Some jobs are easy for example a shop assistant who serves customers and sells goods; or a flight attendant who looks after passengers on a plane. Some jobs are difficult and demanding for example a surgeon who operates on people or a judge who applies law in a court. There are also unusual jobs for instance a storm chaser who follows and photographs Some jobs are dangerous for example a smokejumper who bravely parachutes out of a plane into burning forests and puts out fires in remote areas, or a police officer who makes sure people obey the law, deal with criminals who can kill them.

I want to tell you about one very important occupation. It's a nurse. I think this job is demanding and rewarding because nurses look after sick people and help them. They should be caring and patient, they need stay calm and not get annoyed. Nurses have to be polite because they deal with people from different backgrounds. They don't work 9 to 5, they work shifts. Sometimes nurses have to work at the weekends, sometimes they have to work long hours. Some nurses work on their own, others work with a team. Unfortunately nurses get low wagers and I'm sure that it's unfair because their job is very important and difficult.
