T: Sit down, please. Let’s start our English lesson now. Is anybody absent today?
P1: All right! All pupils are present today, aren’t they?
Ps: Yes, they are.
II ВВЕДЕНИЕ В ИНОЯЗЫЧНУЮ ОБСТАНОВКУ
T: So, I want we begin our lesson with talking about yourself, your hobby, your favourite subject or colour, day or sport etc.
Well, our warming up is a game “Micriphone”. Take the microphone, please!
P1: 1. What’s your name?
2. How old are you?
3. What nationality are you?
4. What foreign language do you study at school?
5. Do you like English? Why?
T: It,s enough. Thank you. Who will be the next?
P2: 6. What is your favourite colour?
7. What is your favourite sport?
8. What is your favourite subject?

10. When do you get up?
T: Thank you. Who wants to continue?
P3:11. What is your hobby?
12. Do you like reading books?
13. Can you fly?

T: I think we’ll finish at this point. Thank you very much. Sit down, please. Well, you have said that it is autumn now, isn’t it?
Ps: Yes, it is autumn now.
T: So, let’s speak about autumn, because our topic is “Round the calendar” and we’ll speak about this season.
III РОЛЕВАЯ ИГРА
T: And now imagine that you are in the street and you meet your friend. So, make up the dialogue mentioning the weather and the season. We will work in groups. Please, you are group number 1, you – number 2 etc. Take these cards with your task. (Distribution cards)
IV АУДИРОВАНИЕ И ГОВОРЕНИЕ
T: First of all, we’ll listen to the dialogues. And after that, you will make up your own dialogues. Then 1 pair from each group will go to the centre of the classroom and present the dialogues. (Pupils listen to the dialogues, then work in groups).
Well, who is ready?
T: Thank you. You have mentioned that we must take care of nature. Do you agree with this fact?
Ps: Yes, we do. We should take care of nature because we need to breath fresh air, walk in forests and swim in clean rivers.
T: So, let’s care about the nature at any season of the year where we are and make a common rule. Today we have talked about autumn and we have a wonderful opportunity to welcome a guest in our English lesson. Guess who is she? You are right, it’s Autumn.

Hello children! I’m autumn.
I’m a season when fruit is sweet.
I’m a season when school friends meet.
I’m a season when mornings are dark.
And birds don’t sing in the park.
The season is over, the trees are all bare,
There is mist in the garden and frost in the air.
I know that not everyone likes me
Ps: We like you because you are an exciting season when we can enjoy eating apples and plums, potatoes and tomatoes, mushrooms and cabbage. And we know a lot of poems about autumn.
Autumn: Oh, thank you very much. I’m so happyand ready to listen to your poems.

In spring the trees are green.
In autumn they are red and brown.
In summer the sun is bright.
In winter the snow is white,
But I can play and I can sing

Let’s recite a clapping rhyme “I’m Popeye the Sailor Man” and do movements to it.
I’m Popeye the sailor man,
I live in a caravan.
I opened the door,
Fell flat on the floor,
I’m Popeye the sailor man. Comma, comma, dash-dash-
Quick flash (пронестись), turn around;
Touch the ground and start again.
This is a clapping rhyme.
At the end of each line, cross hands and touch shoulders. For COMMA, close fists (кулак) and put thumbs (большой палец руки) over shoulders. For DASH, smack (хлопать) hips (бедро).
VII ПОДВЕДЕНИЕ ИТОГОВ УРОКА
In our lesson we were working in groups, making dialogues, reciting poems and now, let’s speak about autumn holidays we know about.
P1: English people celebrate Holloween on 31 October. This holiday is connected with witches and ghosts. English children dress up as ghosts, witches or devils. Then they visit houses and ask “trick or treat” (жизнь или кошелёк). People have to give them a treat (usually chocolate) or children play a trick. Pumpkins with candles inside are usual decorations in the windows of people’s house.
P2: American people celebrate a holiday fourth Thursday of November. It is called Thanksgiving Day. It is a real harvest festival. On that day Americans and Canadians thank God for the good harvest.
P3: We also celebrate some autumn holidays in Ukraine – the day of KLnowledge and the Teacher’s Day.
T: And do you know that on 5 November English people celebrate Guy Fawkes Day. This holiday is very interesting because all people have fun and eat hot potatoes and toffee (hot chestnut). It’s a pity, we haven’t got a real toffee but I have got some sweets called “toffee” and I want to treat you with these sweets. Help yourselves and enjoy them.
