Read the box, then complete the sentences with verbs derived from the words in capitals.

Forming Verbs with Prefixes
Some verbs consist of a prefix plus a verb. Common prefixes are re- (= again), mis- (= wrongly), un- (= not), over- (= too much), dis- (= opposite).
Example:

  • rewrite → rewrite (to write again)

  • misunderstand → misunderstand (to interpret incorrectly)
