The article authored by Kuryanov M. A.; Polovtsev V. S. is entitled as "Active teaching methods". The article was published in 2011. It tells about the methods, how to use them and why it is effective in the classroom.

The authors devote most of the article to "problem-based learning". They cite a lot of terms that are related to this topic. The main idea is that students should be given to reflect, search for information and be able to use it. The essence of such training is to create problematic situations that the student must solve. Another important method is the "Analysis of specific situations". This method develops the ability to analyze. There are many classifications of situations that you can find in the article itself. Since my research is based on elementary school education, a very interesting method called "Role-playing" was given in this article. In elementary school, gaming is the leading activity and that's why I was interested in this method. The essence of this method is to distribute roles between students and simulate a familiar situation to develop conversational skills.

This topic is not new. There are many studies on the topic of active teaching methods, but each author develops and applies it in a new way. The article is quite easy to read, and it contains many useful teaching methods.

At the end there are questionnaires for teachers and students to evaluate the effectiveness of active methods. This is a good opportunity to understand whether the use of active learning methods is suitable for a particular person.

To activate the educational process, it is necessary to develop scenarios for practical classes using modern teaching methods.

There are certain difficulties for the introduction of active teaching methods:

− unwillingness to depart from established teaching methods for many years

− insufficient motivation of teachers engaged in the introduction of innovative teaching methods.

In conclusion, today there are various methods of involving students in active work, first it is a method of motivation, which is based on the interest of each student of the group as a result of the work done. If a student sees the result, he will work more actively in class. The result should be visible at every lesson. However, this work should be carried out by two participants in the process: the teacher and the student. If this process will not involve at least one link, the work cannot be considered effective. To activate the introduction of active teaching methods, it is necessary that experienced teachers conduct open classes. Thus, it should be noted that the possibilities of improving the educational process are not limited either by the teacher or by the active consumer of knowledge – the student. It is only necessary to find the optimal ways to implement this strategy.
