Consolidation of the lesson A human brain weighs about 2.5 kg. It has four main parts. The brainstem connects the brain and the spinal cord. The cerebellum is the largest part of the brain. The pituitary gland which is at the base of the brain and secretes hormones into the blood. The hypothalamus which is above the pituitary gland and regulates conditions such as emotions and feelings. There are two amygdalas on each side of the brain.
