Oxford The system of education in Oxford is very different from ours. In the first year students must pass obligatory courses in each subject. Then they can choose any subjects they want to study. It’s based on tutoring: students are attached to individual consultants, which are the best experts in their fields. Such classes are usually conducted 1-2 times a week and are called «tutorials». Generally, 2-3 students take part in these tutorials. For Oxford’s students is not necessary to attend ordinary lectures, they almost don’t influence on common academic performance of a student.

Cambridge When tourists come to look at the university, they often ask locals one question: «How can I get to the University?». But this question is fundamentally wrong, because the university, or rather 31 colleges are scattered all over the city. Therefore, you can just walk around the city and go into the colleges along the way. By the way, a period of time between the construction of different colleges may be rather big. For instance, one of the oldest colleges – Peterhouse was built in 1284, but the last 31 college - Robinson College was based in 1977.
