The most common information about Great Britain Great Britain is a part of the United Kingdom. Britain lies towards the northwest of Continental Europe. It is a big island encircled by around 1,000 small islands. It is located only 35 km from France. It includes Scotland, Wales and England. England is the largest of all of these. There are lots of rivers in Great Britain. But they aren’t very long. The largest of them are the Severn, the Clyde, the Mersey, the Thames, the Trent and the Ouse. The Thames is the deepest one. The climate of Great Britain is temperate and mild. The warm waters of the Gulf Stream influence the climate of the British Isles.
