Charles Dickens  (1812- 1870)  Charles Dickens is a famous English writer.  He was born on the 7th of February, 1812. He  was born into a poor family. When Charles was a small boy his family settled is on of the London’s poorest suburbs. When Charles Dickens was ten years old his father was put in prison, because he had debts and the boy had to work.  He began to work in a blacking factory. Later he described this period of his life novel  “David Copperfield”. When Charles was 12 years old he began to go school again. At the age of 15 Charles Dickens began to work in a London lawyer’s  office. He did not like this work .

In 1582 he married Anne Hathaway and had three children..  Many centuries have passed since his death in 1616, but Shakespeare is still considered to be the greatest of all playwrights and poets
