The Sonnet "My Native Place"

My native place.

I live in a small town in the hinterland,

There’re no mountains, nor seas, nor forests here.

But here were born my relatives, my Mom and Dad,

And so I love it, and I’m quite sincere.

The streets are narrow, the houses are small and low

But they are very cosy, calm and fine

And when in spring all gardens are in blossom,

I think that our town is devine.

You say “hello” to a lot of people,

And they are smiling in response.

They don’t make enemies and take life easy,

You hear a lot of jokes, laughs and songs.

I wish we all were happy, friendly, well.

And lived like in a magic fairy-tale.
