“There Is No Friend As Loyal As A Book”.

Цель: развитие коммуникативной культуры и социально-культурной образованности учеников.

Задачи:

• Учебные: развитие умений устной речи, чтения; формирование грамматических навыков

• Развивающие: развитие познавательного интереса учащихся к литературе

• Воспитательные: обеспечить стимулирование речемыслительной и социальной активности учащихся.

Тип урока: внеклассное мероприятие.

Ход урока.

I. Организационный момент.

Hello,dear children. Today we are going to have some fun. We are going to divide you into 3 teams and you are to find out the names of your teams.

Детям раздаются листы с кроссвордом, где зашифрованы названия их команд. Все вопросы связаны с темой книги.

A literary or film genre concerned with arousing feelings of horror.

A novel, play, or film with an exciting plot, typically involving crime or espionage.

A film, television drama, or novel about cowboys in western North America, set especially in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

II. So as you understand the topic of our lesson is the importance of books in our life.

“Life without books is a Christmas tree without toys”. How can you understand this quotation? Учащиеся обсуждают значение услышанного выражения.

You are right. And now I want you to remember some genres of books. You see a Christmas tree on the board, but it is without any toys. I have some questions for each team to answer one by one. And I am going to give each team toys for the correct answers to decorate our Christmas tree.

1. A dictionary – a book that gives the words of a language in alphabetical order and explains their meaning, or translates them into another language.

2.A textbook – a book that gives information for the study of a subject.

3.A biography – the story of a person’s life written by sb else.

4.An encyclopedia – a book or set of books giving information about every branch of knowledge, or about one particular subject.

5.The Bible – the sacred writings of the Christian Church, consisting of the Old Testament and the New Testament.

6.Non-fiction – books based on factual material, such as biographies, travel books, books on science, the arts, history …

7.A guidebook – to describe a place, for example, a town, a district or a country.

III.Match the names of Russian and English-speaking writers and the kinds of books they wrote.

Look at the board. Here are some slides with the portraits of the writers. Your task is to guess the genre which they wrote.
