Air Pollution

Purpose

1. Study the problem of air pollution in the World and in your region.

2. Find and offer the ways of solution of this problem.

Task

1. Read and find out the information about air pollution.

2. Find some facts how human activities can make the environment unhealthy according to your theme.

3. Compare these facts of air pollution in your region.

4. Take pictures.

5. Interview an ecologist.

6. Make your presentation and publication in Microsoft Power Point and Microsoft Publisher.

Water Pollution

Littering of the land

Purpose

1. Study the problem of the Land pollution in the World and in your region.

2. Find and offer the ways of solution of this problem.

Task

1. Read and find out the information about littering of the Land.

2. Find some facts how human activities can make the environment unhealthy according to your theme.

3. Compare these facts of land pollution in your region.

4. Take pictures.

5. Make Eco-Experiment «Back to Earth».

Some things are «biodegradable»- which means they eventually break down and go back to the Earth. But which things are, and which are not? This can help you figure it out.

What you will need:

-An apple core

- A leaf of lettuce

-Some plastic packaging

-A piece of Styrofoam

- A small shovel

What to do:

-Find a spot where it is okay to dig a few holes.

-Dig four holes. Each one should be wide and deep enough to put something in.

-Put the apple core in one hole, the lettuce in the next, the plastic in another, and the Styrofoam cup in the fourth hole.

-Fill the holes back in with dirt.

-Mark the spots where you have buried your four things. Make sure you will be able to find them again.

-Wait a month, then go back and dig them up.
