Функции Present Simple. Когда оно используется

• Действия, которое возможно совершится по мнению говорящего.  It will be warm this weekend.
• Решения, которое возникло в момент речи (спонтанное решение).  Oh, I forgot to tell her. I’ll ask Jane.
• Неточные планы на будущее  I will probably buy that dress.
• Надежды, предсказания, страхи, угрозы, обещания, предупреждения, просьбы и т. д.  I’m afraid I’ll be a little late.

Функции Past Simple. Когда оно используется

• Действия или факта, совершавшегося в прошлом.  I was a good swimmer.
• Ряда действий в прошедшем времени.  He took his hat and came out.
• Действия, дата точного совершения которого не известно.  Yesenin wrote many poems about nature.

Past Simple markers — это, как правило, слова, указывающие на конкретную дату, месяц, год в прошлом.

• Yesterday  – вчера The day before yesterday - позавчера Yesterday we were at home. Вчера мы были дома. A week / a year ago  – неделю/год назад Alex moved to the USA a week ago. Алекс переехал в США неделю назад.
