REAL CONDITION( zero condition) The present real conditional (also called conditional 0 ) is used to talk about what you normally do in real-life situations. Both

REAL CONDITION( zero condition)

The present real conditional (also called conditional 0 ) is used to talk about what you normally do in real-life situations. Both "if" and "when" are used in the present real conditional.

( BOTH CLAUSES ARE THE SIMPLE PRESENT )

E.g. WHEN PEOPLE SMOKE CIGARETTS, THEIR HEALTH SUFFERS.

REAL CONDITION(first condition) SITUATION IN WHICH THE OUTCOME IS LIKE TO HAPPEN IN THE FUTURE( BUT NOT GUARANTED) IF-CLAUSE+SIMPLE PRESENT, MAIN CLAUSE-FUTURE E.G If you rest , you will feel better.

REAL CONDITION(first condition)

  • SITUATION IN WHICH THE OUTCOME IS LIKE TO HAPPEN IN THE FUTURE( BUT NOT GUARANTED)

IF-CLAUSE+SIMPLE PRESENT, MAIN CLAUSE-FUTURE

E.G If you rest , you will feel better.

UNREAL CONDITION( Second Condition) Often called the

UNREAL CONDITION( Second Condition)

Often called the "unreal" conditional because it is used for unreal impossible situations.

If-CLAUSE + Simple Past, MAIN CLAUSE + would + base verb

E.g. IF I WERE A WRITER , I WOULD WRITE FROM TIME TO TIME.

In conditional type 2, we usually use  were " instead of " was " in the if clause " even if the pronoun is  Iheshe  or  it .

Third Conditional PRESENT SITUATION WOULD BE DIFFERENT IF SOMETHING DIFFERENT HAD HAPPENED IN THE PAST. If-CLAUSE + Past Perfect, MAIN-CLAUSE- +would + have + Past Participle E.g. If he had been careful, he wouldn't have had that terrible accident

Third Conditional

PRESENT SITUATION WOULD BE DIFFERENT IF SOMETHING DIFFERENT HAD HAPPENED IN THE PAST.

If-CLAUSE + Past Perfect, MAIN-CLAUSE- +would + have + Past Participle

E.g. If he had been careful, he wouldn't have had that terrible accident
