What do we use them for?

Dividing into 4 groups:

Go and stand near the site you like. They choose between: Facebook, Youtube, Instagram, Google+. Why did you choose this site? Why do you like it? What do you use it for? What technology can we use to communicate with each other? You are right.

Teacher informs learners that the aims of this lesson are to revise the material that was taught in this unit:

Students today we are going to revise the unit “Communication and technology”. We are going to revise the material taught in this unit, consolidate the vocabulary of this unit.

We are going to revise the unit in the form of a game.

Now you are going to compete with each-other. And the theme of the competition is called: ‘Top popular social networking site”.

Look at the interactive board. As you can see in this site. Here’s the graph of top 15 social networking sites in the world. As you can see Facebook is leading the pack. It has 2230000000 users. On the second place is Youtube with 1900000000 users. Instagram the third with 1000000000 users. Google+ on the 12th place with 111000000 users. But today you can change the situation and become the “Top popular social networking site”.

Rules for the competition:

1. Choose the leaders.

2. Each group members are users of their sites: Facebook, Youtube, Instagram, Google+.

3. The contest consists of 4 stages: 1. Creative site 2. Advantages and disadvantages. 3. Can you answer? 4. Can you guess?

4. There are criteria for each stage’s work. If you meet the criteria, the amount of the users of your site will increase. Each group adds users to the next group according to the criteria.

5. The site with the most amount of users becomes the “Top popular social networking site”.

6. How to add users? Each group gives users (a picture of a boy or a girl) to the next group for each fulfilled descriptor of the criteria. 1 person (a boy or a girl) = 150 000 000 users.

7. The leaders of each group will assess the members’ activity by criteria.
