1. Describe these astonishing haute couture models. Write about their dresses, shoes and accessories. Do you like the way they look? Or maybe they look foolish to your opinion?

2. What is the way “the true man” should look like? Look at the table and say in few sentences what kind of look is lovelier to your opinion? Do you like men wearing skirts or kilts? Or do you concern them to be a member of LGBT community?

3. Write a short essay about your favorite way of dressing? Do you like some certain style or do you prefer to mix them? Or maybe your style depends on the mood?

4. Match the ways of clothes decorations with the proper pictures. Find the English equivalents to Russian words.

5. Find the new words (the names of accessories, shoes and jewelry) in the word puzzle

6. Make a dialog illustrating a situation “You and your best friend in the shop”. Use the words and phrases below.

• подходить, идти, быть к лицу – to suit (иногда to become) (The dress doesn’t suit=become you. Red suits=becomes you).

• размер (одежды, обуви) – a size (to take / wear (a) certain size – носить одежду / обувь определенного размера; right size – нужный, подходящий размер; They gave me the wrong size. – Они дали мне не тот размер; What size do you wear? – Какой размер вы носите?; to fit – подходить по размеру).

• мало – to be too tight (My dress is too tight because I’m four months pregnant).

• велико – to be too big (I don’t want to buy this skirt – it’s too big for me).

• полнить – to make smb look fat (Does this dress make me look fat?).

• стройнить – to make smb look slim (Does this dress make me look slim?).

• мерить, примерять – to try on (Let me try it on. – Позволь-ка примерить).

• сравнивать – to compare (Don’t compare this bag with this one – they’re absolutely different!).

• сочетаться – to match (to be well / ill matched – быть хорошо / плохо подобранным; хорошо / плохо сочетаться; tastelessly matched clothes – безвкусно подобранная одежда; dress with a hat to match – платье с удачно подобранной шляпкой; These colours don’t match. – Эти цвета плохо сочетаются).

• покупать – to buy (I want to buy this shirt).

• продавать – to sell (They sell it for 25 $).

• стоить – to cost (This pair of shoes costs her 100 $).

• цена – a price (price for smth – цена на / за (что-л.); firm / fixed price – твердая цена; fair / moderate / reasonable price – приемлемая, умеренная, справедливая цена; inflated prices / steep prices – взвинченные, вздутые, непомерно высокие цены; to cost a high / low price – стоить дорого / дешево).

• дешевый / дорогой – cheap / expensive (The sneakers are so cheap! This is too expensive for me).

• скидка – a discount (to allow / grant / give a discount – предоставить скидку; to get a discount – получить скидку; to offer a discount of 5 % - предлагать пятипроцентную скидку).

• распродажа – a sale (to conduct / have / hold / run a sales – разг. устраивать распродажу; to conduct / have / hold / run a sales – разг. устраивать распродажу)
