TOPIC: A GAME “ THE FIRST MILLION”


TYPE OF THE LESSON: NON-STANDART LESSON IN THE FORM OF PLAYING A GAME


OBJECTIVES:

  1. to develop the abilities to express the thoughts logically and spontaneously;

  2. to improve the skills of spontaneous speaking on the basis of the learned

material;

  1. to improve students’ listening comprehension skills.


GLOSSARY:

The rules of the game; a prompt; a telephone call; fifty-fifty; a selection round; points; to score points; advertisement; to choose a variant; to doubt; to be sure.

COMMENTS:

In order to make comprehension easier, the tasks should be written and put on display for everybody to see them well.

A teacher shouldn’t correct students’ mistakes in the course of the game. Mistakes analysis can be provided after the game is over.

For motivating students it’s advisable to prepare some prizes, diplomas, etc.
