"In the world of sport"

Участники – 6 класс.

Цели – воспитание уважительного отношения к культурным ценностям, спорту, обобщение полученных знаний, развитие умения применять полученные знания по теме «Спорт», развитие умения работать в команде.

Оборудование: презентация на компьютере – слайды разных видов спорта, разных известных спортсменов, карточки с заданием, карточки с кроссвордом.

Оргмомент.

Учитель: Dear boys and girls! Are you fond of sport? Everybody knows that sport is an important part in our life. It helps us in different ways: to keep in good health, to build our character. Sport makes us strong, fast, patient.

Well, today we are going to have a lesson devoted to sport. It is a sports quiz consisting of many rounds. During this game we’ll talk about different kinds of sport and about famous sportsmen.

Be attentive and polite. Don’t shout out your answers. Raise your hands, please. You are divided into teams. Now introduce your teams, please.

Are you ready? Let’s start.

Первый конкурс “Guess the sport” (“Угадай вид спорта”).

Listen to the rule: you will see a certain kind of sport in the screen. (You must write down them in your papers. The names of the sports must be written in a correct form. Each correct name of sport will be estimated like one point).Give the name of the sport.

На экране по очереди появляются картинки следующих видов спорта:

1. Swimming 2.Basketball 3. Judo 4. Running 5.Horse racing
6. Windsurfing 7. Boxing 8. Hockey 9. Curling 10. Figure skating

11.High jumping 12. Gymnastics 13. Wrestling 14. Skiing

Второй конкурс “Match the words” (“Соединить слова”).

Well, you have a list with the task. Your task is to match the words.

To go in for sport Участвовать в чемпионате

To compete in a championship Быть в хорошей форме
To lose the competition Устанавливать рекорды

Третий конкурс “What sports they are” (“Какой вид спорта”).

Now I’ ll give you the descriptions of some kinds of sport and your task is to listen and say what sports they are.

• It is a game for two or four players who hit a ball with rackets across a net. (tennis)

• A round ball is used in this game. Two teams of players kick it. They are not allowed to handle the ball. (football)

• It is a team game played with an oval ball. (rugby)

• It is a game played on a table using round wood bats and a small plastic ball. (ping-pong)

• It is played on a rink forty metres long by six players on each of two teams. It is played with a puck and long straight sticks with an angle at the bottom. (hockey)

Четвертый конкурс “Make new words” («Составьте новые слова»)

Your task is to make many new words from the one word – championship.

Пятый конкурс “How do we call people who…” (“Как называются люди, которые…”).

How do we call people who:

• Play football (footballer or football player)

• Play tennis (tennis player)

• Go swimming (swimmer)

• Jump (jumper)

• Run (runner)

• Windsurf (surfer)

Шестой конкурс -  “Guess the famous sportsmen” (“Угадай знаменитых спортсменов”).

You’ll see the famous sportsmen on the screen. Your task is to guess who they are.

Игра «Цепочка слов». Командам дается исходное слово «sport», из которого они должны за 2 минуты составить «цепочку» слов, где последняя буква предыдущего слова является первой буквой последующего.

Example: sport – tennis – surfing – gymnastics – sailing.

Change the words. Учитель предлагает командам выполнить задание на карточках. Каждая команда получает карточку с набором слов для составления предложений (пословиц). Предлагается также дать перевод/ эквивалент данному предложению.
