• Kenilworth is historical novel by Sir Walter Scott, published in January 1821.
• "Kenilworth" was well received by readers and critics. Survey The Edinburgh Review, for example, praised the image of Elizabeth and The Quarterly called it "bright and beautiful" character. However, as feared Scott, The Quarterly and Gentleman's Magazine found the ending too tragic.

Plot

The novel is set in a bright era of Queen Elizabeth Tudor, the plot is built around a secret wife Amy Robsart Earl of Leicester.
