What do I like about being an English teacher?

To be or not to be? There was no question. As far as I remember, I never wanted to become a teacher. It`s my granny, who helped me a lot to make up my mind. She had always dreamt of being a teacher herself and often told me that teachers were saint people. She was talking all the time about her Russian language teacher at school with such tenderness, that I decided to try it. I studied hard and was a good student at the university. I should have become an interpreter, but it could scarcely be!

So here I am. A teacher… Well, I thought it would be much more difficult to find keys to little… people…)

To my mind, you should be responsible and sensitive to become a good teacher. It is hard for some people but always real and interesting. This profession demands devotion, much patience and fairness in relation to all children.

The main purpose of the education, as I see it, is not only to make children know facts but to know how to use them. That`s why it is so important to make friends with them. Teachers not only teach they also bring their students up. Moreover, the fact what kind of people they will become, depends mostly upon them, teachers. I hope that every day I do it right for them to become honest, kind, sympathetic and just in the future.

I suppose that the process of teaching will be successful only in case when children know that their teacher loves them, when they are sure they are loved despite their ups and downs, just the way they are. I try with all my heart to create such conditions and such an atmosphere for my children to feel comfortable. And they know I care. Because we are a family. That`s the main thing I appreciate in my profession so much and more than that, I have never regretted that I let my dearest granny make my mind long ago.
