a) Zemetchinsky district

1) It is situated to the north-west from Penza between the Sura River and the Moksha. A great number of plants and flowers are grown here.

b) District of Serdobsk

2) It is situated in the southwest of Penza region. The rivers the Crow, the Big Chembar, the Small Chembar and a number of small rivers flow on the territory. There is Tarkhany in this district.

c) District of Norovchat

3) It is situated in the north-west of Penza region. In the 13^th century there was a town named Nuridzhan. A bit later it was renamed as Narovchat. A well-known Russian writer Alexander Kuprin was born here. Here you can also visit Skanov’s caves.

d) District of Mokshan

4) It was founded on July 26 in 1928. It is situated in the South of Penza region. There are famous rivers there: The Khoper, the Serdoba, the Argada and others.

e) District of Kolyshley

5) It was formed on 23 July in 1928. It is located in the south of Penza region. It was named after the river flowing in Kolyshley. There is Kolyshleysky Belokamensky Forest Park on the territory of this region.

f) District of Belinsky

6) It is situated on the northwest of Penza region on the borders with Tambov and Ryazan regions and the Republic of Mordovia and also Bashmakovsky and Vadinsky regions. Only in 1939 this district became a part of Penza region.
