Develop students' confidence to speak

One of the things I'd like to talk about today is confidence. Confidence is an important part of language learning. Our primary goal as teachers is to enable students to communicate effectively in the target language and provide them with opportunities to use their knowledge to speak from the beginning of their learning. Students need to enjoy learning, and every person learns best when he/she enjoys the process. The challenge is to make things interesting enough to provide prime motivation without sacrificing the quantity or quality of the materials you teach. One of the most complicated problems of the second language learning and teaching has been self-confidence in the classroom. To stimulate their use of language I use a variety of methods such as games, role-plays, problem-solving, story sequences, authentic materials such as radio and newspapers. Visual aids can play an important part in learning English, they are important tools for the teacher, too.
