Later that idea was spread worldwide. It is a mountain wildland, home to grizzly bears, wolves, and herds of bison and elk. The park is the core of one of the natural ecosystems in the world.

  4. Yellowstone’s rich and diverse wildlife are as famous as its geysers. Each animal has habitat preferences and seasonal cycles of movement. In a general sense, a particular animal may be at a particular time in a particular place. Early morning and evening hours are when animals are usually fed and thus are more easily seen. But remember that the numbers and variety of animals you see are largely a matter of luck and coincidence.

  5. Biking, camping, fishing, enjoying exhibits and films, and attending ranger-led programs are among the many ways to experience Yellowstone. Join a park ranger for walks, hikes, and campfire programs.
