Theme of the lesson: Lesson 5. Are you a good companion?

AIMS: to talk with pupils about Quiz about travel preferences

a) Educational purpose: According to the lesson’s educational purpose improve pupils’ personal qualities like behavior, education etc. to improve pupils’ ideal-political knowledge, to form their developing skills and abilities.

b) Upbringing purpose: According to the lesson’s educational purpose improve pupils’ knowledge, experience. Teach pupils new grammar rules, new words, improve their listening, reading, oral speech and writing skills.

c) Developing purpose: According to the lesson’s educational purpose develop pupils’ personal skills, English learning, motivational skills, develop pupils’ self educational skills, analyzing and systematizing skills of knowledge, develop to report own ideas, communicative skills

TYPE OF THE LESSON: written, oral(practical).

TEACHING AIDS: dictionary, text- book , pictures phonetic table, delivers, magnet board.

Hello. My name's Pamela Goldsmith. I'm a teacher in Hedgerow Secondary School. I teach girls and boys who are 13 years old. These are some of my pupils. Who do you think would make good travel­ling companions?


(a) Robert is a quiet boy. He doesn't like noisy games. He can do a lot of things, for exam­ple, he can make a fire. He enjoys taking pho­tos.

(b) Amy is a very kind girl. She is always ready to give her things to her friends. She likes a good joke and laughs a lot. Amy is a slow walker and gets tired very quickly. But she's good at riding a bike.

(c) Fiona doesn't like walking or riding a bike. She likes noisy games and she always wants to win. She likes to make fun of other children.

(d)Mike is good at sports. He is strong and he never complains. He doesn't talk much and he doesn't like people who talk and laugh a lot. He can be rude to them sometimes.

(e) Frank is fond of all kinds of travelling: he likes boating, biking, hiking, etc. He is a good story-teller because he knows a lot. Sometimes he forgets to pack the things he needs.

Activity 1 Look and say.

Objective: to recycle the vocabulary and structures for animals, colours, parts of body, etc.

Ask the pupils to look at the pictures in the book. Ask them to speak about the animals as follows:

This is a cow. It’s big. It’s black and white. It has got four legs, a big head and a tail. It says ‘Moo-moo’, etc.


Activity 2 Perform and watch.

Objective: to recycle the vocabulary and structures for animals, colours, parts of body, etc.

Ask the pupils to wear their masks. Select a pupil who plays the role of the lion.

Explain that the lion there is the king of all the animals. It approaches to different animals and asks questions about their names, colours, abilities, etc. The animals must answer its questions.

Homework: Explain to the pupils that at home they should revise all the previous lessons and units to get prepared to the revision lesson.
