T- And just before we start, for revision let’s look at the slide and name the geometrical figures. Tell me please how are they releted to our topic?

T - Now you are going to listen to an expert speaking about two styles of painting. Listen and decide which style he is speaking about and what style of painting each picture is. (p.54 ex.5 tapescript) 5 minutes

T - Now please, for more details about each style, you are going to read the text on p.54-55. The “yellow team” will read about “cubism” and the “green team” – about surrealism. 4 minutes at your disposal. Read the text and complete the table with missing information.

VII. Работа в парах. Развитие навыков монологического высказывания учащихся, связанного с началом урока.

T - OK! Now you are ready to continue the lesson. Let’s move on. I’d like you to work in pairs with your friends from the other team. You should exchange the information from your papers trying to tell each other about your style of art. You have to be very careful and try to remember as much information as possible. Because after that you will describe it for us. Go on! You have got 4 minutes at your disposal.

Ps – (work in pairs with their opponents describing the style of paintings)

T – Ok! Let’s please go back to your places and tell us what you learned from you friends.

T - You are absolute talented pupils . I am very proud of you. And now the most interesting point in today’s lesson. Auction! Let me present you two wonderful masterpieces of modern art.

1) “Mother and Child”,– Art by Ric Ico, a modern cubist painter from Philippines

2) “The Sun Sets Sail” by Rob Gonsalves, a modern surrealist painter hailing from Canada

You have a chance to buy these wonderful paintings but you have to pay for them. The price is a cinquain about cubism for the green team an about surrealism for the yellow team. Go on!

Line 3: actions – 3 verbs that relate to line 1

Line 4: a sentence of 4 words, that relate to line 1

Line 5: one word (synonym of line 1) that sums it up.
