Magnitogorsk is the center of Russian ferrous metallurgy.

The Magnitnaya Mountain (enormous iron ore deposit) gave the city its name – and life!
Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works is a backbone enterprise of global renown.
It funds ‘Metallurg Magnitogorsk’ ice hockey team – the boast of the city and three-time champion of Russia.

The Ural River divides Magnitogorsk into two parts: European and Asian.
The Europe-Asia monument marks the inner border of the Eurasia continent.

The place where Europe and Asia meet – is the official motto of the city with half-a-million-population.
Magntogorsk unites more than 90 ethnic groups.

The tramline is the third largest in Russia (trailing only the Moscow and Saint-Petersburg ones).
It leads through the basic tourist sites such as churches, museums, parks with animated fountains, war and literature monuments and architectural complexes.

The peculiar sights of Magnitogorsk are:

The First Tent – the stone monument dedicated to the first-builders of Magnitogorsk.

The Montreux (Switzerland city) square with human scale statues of musical instruments;

The Monument to Street Cleaner and Plumber;

The First Steam Locomotion monument.

The must-see of Magnitogorsk nature are its lakes and exquisite mountain ski resorts!
