Old man's story

One evening several tourists who were staying at a (1) ……in Manchester were having dinner in the hotel restaurant. An old man who had only listened to their stories and never spoken a word, suddenly said that he would like to tell them an interesting story, too. And this is what he told them:

The free ticket

Allison Lumsden lived by (1)……. in a small house. One day she received a letter. When she opened the letter there was a cinema ticket inside. There was also a note in the letter. It said,
“Here is a free ticket to the cinema on Saturday night. Enjoy yourself.”
