In those days in the 16 th and 17 th centuries people had neither radio nor a newspaper, that’s why the theatre played an important part their lives.
In those days the people of London, young and old, rich and poor, loved the Globe Theatre very much. The poor people could not pay much for the tickets and they stood or sat on the ground in the yard. Rich people and their wives sat on the balconies and aristocrats were allowed to sit on the stage.
Robert Burns died at the age of 37, on the 21 st of July in 1796. He had become Scotland's best-loved poet and the symbol of the regeneration of a nation.
His father William was a gardener on a small estate; he could understand people. And Robert learned from his father to understand people .

Windsor Castle is the official residence of The Queen and holds the Royal Collection which includes works by da Vinci and Michelangelo and is considered one of the finest art collections in the world. The Castle is absolutely spectacular and covers an amazing 13 acres. The construction of Windsor Castle was begun over 900 years ago by William the Conquerer. Parts of the castle are undergoing restoration after being destroyed by fire in 1992. The State Apartments and Queen Mary's Dolls' House are impressive parts of the Castle. As is St. Georges Chapel, which serves as the final resting place of ten sovreigns, including Henry VIII.
Buckingham Palace was built in 1825. Today it is the site of one of the most popular tourist events in London, the Changing of the Guard.

The Princess Royal, the second child and only daughter of The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh, was born at Clarence House, London, on 15 August 1950, when her mother was Princess Elizabeth, heir presumptive to the throne. She was baptized Anne Elizabeth Alice Louise at Buckingham Palace on 21 October. She received the title Princess Royal from The Queen in June 1987; she was previously known as Princess Anne.
The official residences of Britain's sovereigns
Buckingham Palace has served as the official London residence of Britain's sovereigns since 1837. It evolved from a town house that was owned from the beginning of the eighteenth century by the Dukes of Buckingham. Today it is The Queen's official residence. Although in use for the many official events and receptions held by The Queen, areas of Buckingham Palace are opened to visitors on a regular basis.
Windsor Castle is an official residence of The Queen and the largest occupied castle in the world. A royal palace and fortress for over 900 years, the Castle remains a working palace today. Visitors can walk around the State Apartments, extensive suites of rooms at the heart of the working palace; for part of the year visitors can also see the Semi State rooms, which are some of the most splendid interiors in the castle.

In those days in the 16 th and 17 th centuries people had neither radio nor a newspaper, that’s why the theatre played an important part their lives.
In those days the people of London, young and old, rich and poor, loved the Globe Theatre very much. The poor people could not pay much for the tickets and they stood or sat on the ground in the yard. Rich people and their wives sat on the balconies and aristocrats were allowed to sit on the stage.

Buckingham Palace
Buckingham Palace was built in 1825. Today it is the site of one of the most popular tourist events in London, the Changing of the Guard.
This is a photo of Buckingham Palace. You can see that there are a lot of people around the gates. It was not this crowded all of the time. This photo was taken shortly before the Changing of the Guards.
Windsor Castle
Windsor Castle is the official residence of The Queen and holds the Royal Collection which includes works by da Vinci and Michelangelo and is considered one of the finest art collections in the world. The Castle is absolutely spectacular and covers an amazing 13 acres. The construction of Windsor Castle was begun over 900 years ago by William the Conquerer. Parts of the castle are undergoing restoration after being destroyed by fire in 1992. The State Apartments and Queen Mary's Dolls' House are impressive parts of the Castle. As is St. Georges Chapel, which serves as the final resting place of ten sovreigns, including Henry VIII.
