Task 1. Imagine that you are preparing a project with your friend. You have found some interesting material for the presentation and you want to read this text to your friend. You have 1.5 minutes to read the text silently, then be ready to read it out aloud. You will not have more than 1.5 minutes to read it.

• There is nothing fancy or expensive about happiness. On the contrary, happiness is
• simple and slow. It means choosing peace and quiet over excitement . It is wearing
• your old pyjamas and watching a movie the day before Christmas . It is sitting in
• your window watching the weather while sipping your favourite tea on a rainy day.
• It is looking into the bonfire surrounded by your friends and family while your
• bread is slowly baking .
• Happiness is always about appreciating the simple pleasures in life and thus it can
• be achieved on a really low budget . You cannot buy the right atmosphere or
• a sense of togetherness . It’s all about time, interest and engagement in the people
• around you. Thus, happiness is an atmosphere which is not improved by spending
• more money on it, but rather, in some ways, the opposite. After all, the best things
• in life are absolutely free.

• 1. Правильно произносить звуки в словах, не допуская искажения смысла слова:
• [θ]-[s]-think –sink [w]-[v]-wet-vet
• [ɔ:]-[ɜ:]-walk –work [iː]-[ɪ]-heat –hit
• 2. Правильно произносить все звуки,особенно [ð], [θ],[w],[ŋ], [ɜː];
• 3.Владеть правилами чтения и исключениями из правил;
• 4. Не оглушать конечные звонкие согласные:

• 5. Правильно ставить ударение в многосложных словах:

• 6. Произносить связующее [r]

Требования к выполнению задания 1. Интонация .

• Соблюдать фразовое ударение:
• -выделять голосом ударные слова (существительные, прилагательные, наречия, числительные, смысловые глаголы, вопросительные и указательные местоимения); не выделять голосом неударные слова (вспомогательные глаголы, модальные глаголы, глагол to be, предлоги, частицы, союзы, артикли, личные и притяжательные местоимения), помнить, что в неударных словах гласные звуки редуцируются;
• 2. Правильно расставить паузы, т.е. разделить текст на смысловые группы (отрезки) и прочитать их с правильной интонацией.
• 3. Владеть логическим ударением, т.е. выделять голосом одного из слов предложения (даже неударное слово) для усиления его смысловой нагрузки.
• 4. Владеть восходящим тоном для оформления незаконченной смысловой группы
• распространённое подлежащее; обстоятельство в начале предложения; каждый из перечисляемых членов предложения, кроме последнего, если он является концом повествовательного предложения; придаточное предложение, стоящее перед главным
• 5. Правильно интонационно оформлять каждое предложение в соответствии с его коммуникативным типом.
• 6. Соблюдать средний темп чтения
• -1.5 минуты, чтобы прочитать текст из 150-170 слов

• • Речь воспринимается легко;

• • Соблюдены фразовое ударение и интонационные контуры, слова произнесены без нарушений нормы;
• • Допущено не более пяти фонетических ошибок, в том числе одна-две ошибки, искажающие смысл.

You have 20 seconds to ask each question.

Hey, Kate. I’ve just found two pictures suitable for our project “Life without gadgets”. Let me tell you a bit more about them. They are relevant to our project because in both pictures we can see people reading books. In the first photo there is a girl reading a book in the library. While in the second photo there is another girl sitting on the sofa and reading an e-book.

There are a few differences to illustrate our project better.

For example , the first picture depicts a paper book, the girl has chosen this book in the library and now she is going to read it, whereas the second picture shows an electronic device for reading books.

In my opinion , both types of books have their advantages.

For instance , an e-book has relatively small size but it can contain a great number of novels and stories. As for paper books, they do not require any electricity so that they can be read everywhere.

Of course, the two types of books have disadvantages too.

For example , using electronic device for a long time is harmful for eyes.

Meanwhile , paper books are rather heavy to be carried with.
