Мета:

  • навчальна - активізувати вживання в мові учнів тематичної лексики; практикувати учнів в    діалогічному, монологічному, спонтанному мовленні, практикувати в читанні текстів; тренувати учнів у роботі в парах та  в малих групах;
  • розвивальна - розвивати мовну інтуїцію, мовну реакцію, сприяти розвитку самостійного мислення, розвитку комунікативних навичок, творчої уяви;
  • виховна - виховувати культуру спілкування, повагу до праці, заохочувати до вивчення нового.

ТЕМА УРОКУ: Computers in our life

Мета:

  • навчальна - активізувати вживання в мові учнів тематичної лексики; практикувати учнів в діалогічному, монологічному, спонтанному мовленні, практикувати в читанні текстів; тренувати учнів у роботі в парах та в малих групах;

  • розвивальна - розвивати мовну інтуїцію, мовну реакцію, сприяти розвитку самостійного мислення, розвитку комунікативних навичок, творчої уяви;

  • виховна - виховувати культуру спілкування, повагу до праці, заохочувати до вивчення нового.


Обладнання: роздавальний матеріал для роботи в парах та групах, інтерактивна дошка “Panaboard”.

The procedure of the lesson


T. Good Morning boys. Glad to see you. The theme of our lesson today is «Computers in our life.» Computers are changing the lifestyle of millions of people all over the world. Computers are used in everyday life and make it easier. What do you know about computers? What are they for? Why does the modern man need them?

This what are we going to speak about at our lesson.

Let’s speak about computers!


1. Warming – up


Look at the screen and try to understand the information (СЛАЙД 1)

  • What is a computer?

  • What association do you have with the word “COMPUTER”

(СЛАЙД 2 один учень у дошки “Panaboard”) At first students can see only pictures, and then words.


  • What is the best thing about computers?

  • What is the worst thing about computers?

  • What would life be like without your computer?


2. Vocabulary

1) I hope, you are the best student at IT classes. Match the pictures (СЛАЙД 3 один учень у дошки “Panaboard”)

2)Look at the Word Map with verbs that are used before a word “a file” and discuss


3) Complete the paragraph below with the words in the box and in the Word Map above (роздавальний матеріал – додаток 1 )

1. Computers give access to a lot of information.

2. Computers let you communicate very quickly by e-mail or using the Internet

3. Computers can do some tasks very quickly; for example, send off large number of letters or bills.

4. Computers make it possible to work at home.

5. Word processors make it easier to write letters and reports, and to do work for school or college.

6. Children enjoy using computers, and multimedia, interactive software and virtual reality make learning more exciting. Many books are now available on CD-ROMs.

7. Large amounts of information can be stored in a database.

 

Group 2. «Disadvantages of computers»

1. Many people do not like using computers, and would prefer to deal with a person instead.

2. Computers can get viruses and damage software.

3. Software often has bugs, and sometimes computers fail and people lose all the work they had done.

4. Some children spend too much time playing computer games which can be very violent.

5. Anyone can put information on the Internet, so it can easily be used by criminals. There are no laws to stop this yet, and it is extremely difficult to control the Internet.

6. Computers quickly become obsolete, so they soon need to be replaced or updated.

7. If a computer is not working properly, most people do not know how to fix it, and this be very annoying.


5. Summary

  • What would happen if all of the world’s computers suddenly stopped forever?

6. Homework

Write an essay: “Have you got a computer at home? Why do you use it for?”

Computers have had a great impact on society. Today computers are constantly becoming a part of everyday life. Computers are used in everything from the home PC or laptop to appliances such as microwaves even our cars. Not only have computers had a great impact on our everyday life, but also on education and the workplace. Computers are used in our appliances, mobile phones, entertainment devices (such as DVD players) and others. It is almost impossible to get through one day without having some form of interaction with computers.

The Internet has had a huge impact on society. It provides information and services, as well as the ability to communicate people all around the world in variety of ways. These range from bulletin boards and chat rooms to voice conversations and video conferencing.

Around the world, the Internet is available to millions of people. Those who don’t have computer or access to the Internet at home will often have access at work or school, or even at the local library. Another added bonus of the Internet is that the majority of the information and services available are free.

The use of computers for the educational purposes has been highly beneficial for those involved. From a primary school level, children are taught the basics of computer use, including the Internet. At high school, this continues as children become more and more proficient in using the computer.

It’s a tertiary level though, that computers really come into use. News, assignments, tests, lecture notes etc. can be placed on the Internet for students who live in remote areas and cannot travel to and from university or other tertiary institution each day. The idea of remote learning can also be applied to a primary school level.

Computers impact every part of our lives. From the home, to the workplace and in education, computers aid us to do what we want. In general, computers are beneficial to the tasks they are applied to. Although computers can cause some problems, such as unemployment and computer viruses, these are far outweighed by the benefits computers provide. Because of this, computers and technology will continue to have an increasing effect on society
