The Athletes' Oath
Holding a corner of the Olympic flag, the chosen athlete repeats the oath:
"In the name of all competitors, I promise that we shall take part in these Olympic Games, respecting and abiding by the rules that govern them, in the true spirit of sportsmanship, for the glory of sport and the honor of our teams.«
Written by Baron de Coubertin, the athletes' oath was first taken at the 1920 Antwerp Games in Belgium.
Slogan : Hot. Cool. Yours .
September 24, 2012, exactly 500 days before the start of the Olympic Winter Games, Dmitry Chernyshenko called slogan of upcoming events: "Hot. Winter. Your ". English slogan reads as follows: Hot. Cool. Yours. According to Chernyshenko, the phrase "in three words allows us to show the diversity and nature of Russia."

Olympic torch
The silhouette of the torch - fire bird's feather. Olympic flame
The torch relay began in Moscow on 7 October 2013 and endtd in Sochi February 7, 2014. According to the Organizing Committee of the Olympic Games, the baton was the longest in history - 123 days, the longest - more than 40,000 kilometers. The Olympic flame was carried through the capitals of all the 83 constituents of the Russian Federation.
