The Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) will be held in 2016 and will be held from 5 to 21 August. The Olympics is remarkable that this will be the first Olympic Games that will take South America. And now undefeated among continents, except Antarctica, Africa remains one, never yet to host this huge event.

Mascots

Games mascots were two animals that embody the flora and fauna of Brazil. A mascot is yellow and represents the brightest and most common predstavitiley fauna of Brazil - a monkey and a parrot. The second beast was the collective image of the Brazilian flora, its features can be found and the elements of the tree and flower elements.

Maracana

Competitive zone "Maracana" so named because it is the central object of the stadium "Maracana" - one of the most famous football stadiums in the world. On it will be held the opening and closing ceremonies, as well as football competitions. In addition to Rio de Janeiro, football competitions take other Brazilian cities - Brasilia, Salvador, Sao Paulo and Belo Horizonte. Among other objects Maracana arena will "Ginásio do Maracanãzinho" (volleyball) and João Havelange Stadium (athletics).
