A. We live on the Earth. It is round. If you look at it from space you will see land, continents, seas, oceans, and mountains. Sometimes you can see them through the clouds.

B. April 22nd is Earth Day. It’s a day to think about our planet and what we can do to keep it healthy. The first Earth Day was in 1970. It started in the USA. It showed everybody that we need to look after our planet.

C. Christopher Columbus made four trips across the Atlantic Ocean from Europe. He wanted to find a direct way to Asia, but never did.

D. A young doctor didn’t have many patients. To pass the time, he wrote stories about a man who was a very good detective. The stories became very popular and the detective’s name Sherlock Holmes — really famous.

E. Some people say Australia is the largest island in the world, some are sure it is just a country. And they are right, but Australia is more than that. Geographically Australia is like Africa, Europe, Asia and Americas.
