Ход урока:

T: Hi! How’s life?

S: Pretty good. And how are you?

T: By the way, what day is it today? What date is it today?

S: It is…It is the…

T: Great! Do you like the weather today?

S: Yes, I do. No, I don’t.

T: Why? Is it raining?

S: No, it isn’t.

T: Is it sunny?

S: No, it isn’t.

T: Is it cloudy?

S: Yes, it is.

T: Ok! What’s the weather like today?

S: It is cold. It isn’t snowy. It is windy.

T: That’s right! And now please be very attentive and answer my question

What was (интонационно делаю ударение на «was» и «yesterday») the weather like yesterday?

S: It was rainy, cloudy, windy yesterday!

T: Right! It was rainy yesterday! В предложениях IS поменялось на WAS, оказывается, чтобы на английском языке сказать, какая погода была вчера, нам нужно заменить IS на WAS! It’s so simple! Be careful!

For negatives add 'n't' or ‘not’.

I wasn’t late for school this morning.

I was not late for school this morning.

She wasn’t with her friends last Saturday.

She was not with her friends last Saturday.

We weren’t tired yesterday.

We were not tired yesterday.

We say... We don’t say...

Were you late for school today? Yes, I was. (NOT You were late for school today? Yes I was.)

Was she with her friends last Saturday? No, she wasn’t. (NOT She was with her friends last Saturday? No, she wasn’t.)

Was he tired yesterday? Yes, he was. (NOT He was tired yesterday? Yes, he was.)(For a normal question we use was + pronoun. To show surprise you can use pronoun + was.)

Now, let’s play the game! (на экране игра, объясняю, что нужно выбирать слова и вставлять их в предложения, ребенок называет слово, я -выбираю на экране)
