Lecture 1-2
Abstract- Denoting something that is immaterial, conceptual, or nonspecific, as an idea or quality
Acquaint-to make familiar;
Authentic Assessments- Evaluating by asking for the behavior the learning is intended to produce.
Build or invent- to create something that has never been made before;
Challenge or destroy- (the situation of being faced with) something that needs great mental or physical effort in order to be done successfully and therefore tests a person's ability;
Collaborative- involving two or more people working together for a special purpose;
Complex- Composed of two or more units
Coherence- a clear relationship between parts, esp. in a work of literature or art:
Creativity is a phenomenon whereby something new and somehow valuable is formed;
Critical thinking is self-guided, self-disciplined thinking which attempts to reason at the highest level of quality in a fair-minded way;
Cross-cultural understanding- It is the ability to recognize differences in traditions and habits among people of different ethnics, religions, localities, regions, and countries or nations, confusion, make correct interpretation and react properly to people or situations in the communication with these communities that constitutes the essence of cross-cultural understanding;
Digital age skills-the knowledge and skills that students need to know and be able to do by the time they graduate from secondary school;
Dismiss- to decide that something or someone is not important and not worth considering.
Essential question- it is an open-ended question that sparks students interest and allow for multiple answers;
Figure out- to understand or solve something;
Innovation- something newly introduced, such as a new method or device;
Lifelong learning- the process of gaining knowledge and skills throughout your life, often to help you do your job properly;
Open-ended- designating or of a question allowing for a freely formulated answer rather than one made by a choice from among predetermined answers
Persuade or convince- to make someone do or believe something by giving them a good reason to do it or by talking to that person and making them believe it:
Predict- to say that an event or action will happen in the future;
Provocative- acting as a stimulus or incitement, esp to anger or sexual desire; provoking
Project- a piece of planned work or an activity that is finished over a period of time and intended to achieve a particular purpose;
Project- based learning- Learning which requires students to draw from many information sources and disciplines in order to solve problems;
Real world- the realm of practical or actual experience, as opposed to the abstract,
Social responsibility is the idea that businesses should balance profit-making activities with activities that benefit society; it involves developing businesses with a positive relationship to the society in which they operate;
Visiualation -To engage in psychological visualization with regard to (pain or a body process, for example);
Wonder- to think about things in a questioning and sometimes doubting way;
