Glossary

  • Authenticity - The project features real-world context, tasks and tools, quality standards, or impact – or speaks to students’ personal concerns, interests, and issues in their lives.

  • Acquaint- Deals with familiarity and appreciation

  • Built and invent- Construction or adaptation to meet special requirements

  • Challenging Problem or Question - The project is framed by a meaningful problem to solve or a question to answer, at the appropriate level of challenge.

  • Critique & Revision - Students give, receive, and use feedback to improve their process and products

  • Creativity- the use of imagination or original ideas to create something; inventiveness

  • Critical thinking- the objective analysis and evaluation of an issue in order to form a judgement.

  • Curriculum -the term curriculum refers to the lessons and academic content taught in a school or in a specific course or program. In dictionaries, curriculum is often defined as the courses offered by a school, but it is rarely used in such a general sense in schools.

  • Digital age-IT, INTERNET the present time, when most information is in a digital form, especially when compared to the time when computers were not used

  • Essential question- Questions that probe for deeper meaning and set the stage for further questioning, ones that foster the development of critical thinking skills and higher order capabilities such as problem-solving and understanding complex systems.



  • Figure out- Involves solving a mystery or completing a puzzle ,anchored to facts and reality

  • Key Knowledge, Understanding, and Success Skills - The project is focused on student learning goals, including standards-based content and skills such as critical thinking/problem solving, communication, collaboration, and self-management.

  • Lifelong learners -the provision or use of both formal and informal learning opportunities throughout people's lives in order to foster the continuous development and improvement of the knowledge and skills needed for employment and personal fulfillment

  • Multidisciplinary- combining or involving several academic disciplines or professional specializations in an approach to a topic or problem.

  • Predict- create hypothesis about likely outcomes

  • Project - it`s the development of confidence in using English in the real world, the world outside the classroom.

  • Project-based Learning :

  • is a model for classroom activity that shifts away from the usual classroom practices of short, isolated, teacher-centred lessons.

  • is a method of teaching that presents students with a problem or challenge to solve, requires them to gather information from various resources, and asks them to come up with an original solution that ends in a product or performance.

  • is a systematic teaching method that engages students in learning important knowledge and 21st century skills through an extended, student-influenced inquiry process structured around complex, authentic questions and carefully designed products and learning tasks.



  • Public Product - Students make their project work public by explaining, displaying and/or presenting it to people beyond the classroom

  • Reflection - Students and teachers reflect on learning, the effectiveness of their inquiry and project activities, the quality of student work, obstacles and how to overcome them.

  • Sustained Inquiry - Students engage in a rigorous, extended process of asking questions, finding resources, and applying information.
