I’m lying in the sun.

And I’m having lots of fun.

A giraffe-raffe-raffe is tall

Crocodile-dile-dile can crawl.

Teacher: Children! What is this song about? (Children answer).

Yes’ it’s about the sun and about the lion. So, our holiday will be devoted to the Sun.

Pupil 1: There are many holidays in May: May Day, Victory Day. On the third of May people celebrate International Day of the Sun. People began to celebrate this holiday in 1994. We live on the Earth but we can’t live without the Sun. The Sun is very important for us.

(Pupils sing a song).

Pupil 2: The Sun is a big star. It is nearer to the Earth than the other stars. It is a great source of energy.

The Sun gives us the sunshine. It gives life to the people, to the animals and birds, to the trees and flowers.

Pupil 3: When the sun is shining the trees are growing and the flowers are blooming.

Now, look at this placard name the letters and try to guess the name of the flower.

Yes, it is the sunflower.

Teacher: And what other flowers do you know? Let’s have a competition. You’ll get a shit of paper. Your task is to put down as many names of flowers as possible. Let’s see who will win.

Pupil 4: When the Sun is shining in a blue sky the weather is fine and everything is beautiful. People want to sing and to recite poems. Let’s listen to some poems. (Children recite poems).

Pupil 5: A Child’s Wish

I want to laugh

And not to cry.

I want to feel

The summer sun.

I want to sing

When life is fun.

I want to fly

Into the blue.

I want to swim

As fishes do/

I want to stretch out

Friendly hands

Pupil 6:

The spring sun is in the sky.

Shining, shining so high.

We all have such fun

We play in the park and run.

We swim and hike and fish.

And dance by the fire if you wish.

Pupil 7:

Use some bright and happy song,

You can sing it all day long.

Morning, night and afternoon.

Come on, sing the prettiest tune.

The prettiest tune can make you glad,

You will forget that you were sad.

The prettiest tune has a way

Makes you happy and gay.

Teacher: I think it’s time to sing the song “May There Always Be Sunshine.”

(All the children sing a song.)

Bright blue the sky.

Sun upon high…

That was the little boy’s picture.

He drew for you,

Wrote for you, too,

Just to make clear what he drew…
