Conditional Sentences (Условные предложения)

Conditional II Условные предложения 2-го типа обозначают нереальное (маловероятное) условие, относящееся к настоящему или будущему.

Если бы у моей сестры было время, она бы мне помогла сегодня вечером. If my sister had time, she would help me tonight. Если бы я знал ответ, я бы тебе сказал. If I knew the answer, I would tell you. Если бы ты не выучил слова, ты не понял бы текст завтра на уроке. If you didn’t learn the words, you wouldn’t understand the text at the lesson tomorrow.

Conditional III Условные предложения 3-го типа обозначают нереальное условие, относящееся к прошлому.

Если бы погода была солнечной вчера, мы поехали бы в деревню. If the weather had been sunny yesterday, we would have gone to the country. Если бы прошлым летом не начался пожар, он не разрушил бы деревню. If the fire hadn’t started last summer, it wouldn’t have destroyed the village.
