P1: Good morning boys and girls! Welcome to our party, dedicated to the most important day in the America. People call this holiday Thanksgiving Day.
But first of all we`d like to remind you of some facts from the history of this holiday.
P2: The first Thanksgiving Day was celebrated by the Pilgrims in 1621. They came from England for religious freedom. They sailed from Plymouth, England, on September 16, 1620. Their ship was called the Mayflower. They landed at Plymouth Rock on December 26, 1620.
P2: The first winter was a terrible time. There was much sickness and starvation. Native Indians taught the Pilgrims how to plant, to fish, to hunt and how to survive in America. The crops did well, and in autumn of 1621 the Pilgrims had a great harvest. They were very thankful and decided to celebrate with a feast. The Pilgrims invited their Indian friends to share this Thanksgiving feast.
P3: Thanksgiving Day comes on the 4-th Thursday in November. It’s a legal holiday celebrated in the USA. They give thanks for the many good things in their lives.
P4: This is a family holiday. Families come together from near and far. They have traditional feast. Turkey with stuffing is the main dish. It is served with sweet potatoes, cranberry, and pumpkin pie. Apple cider is the drink of the day. The department store holds its annual Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City. Celebrities, bands, and balloons shaped like famous cartoon characters appear in the parade. Santa Claus arrives at the end. His coming marks the beginning of the Christmas season. Stores, classrooms, and homes are decorated with turkeys, pilgrims, Indians, flowers and vegetables.
S: I’m greeting you, Massasoit, the chief of the tribe.
M: I’m greeting you, Squanto! What’s the news?
S: I’ve come to say that a big boat is approaching our land. I saw it today in the morning from the rock. It has a lot of people.
M: How many?
S: (показывает двумя руками 5 раз) Fifty.
M: Do you think they are enemies or friends? We don’t want to have a war. We don’t want to have blood and death.
S: You are right, Massasoit. But we must be ready for everything. I am going to meet them and find out the purpose of their arrival.
M: Be very careful. I wish you good luck!
The Mayflower
Oh, I see a land! Look! Look! Land!
All Pilgrims: Land! Hurrah! Hurrah! Land!
Pilgrim: Look! There are people there. They welcome us.
The Indian leader: welcome to our land! Who are you? Where are you from?
1 Pilgrim: We are Pilgrims. We are from England. We have come for new lives. And who are you?
The Indian leader: We are Indians. We have been living here for a long time. You may stay here on our land and live with us.
All Pilgrims: Thank you very much.

T is for the trust the pilgrims had so many years ago.
H is for the harvest the settlers learnt to grow.
A is for America, the land in which we live.
N is for nature and beauty which she gives.
K is for kindness, gentle words, thoughtful deeds.
S is for smiles, the sunshine everyone needs.
All together: Happy Thanksgiving!
Pilgrim: It’s time for the traditional game “Bean Throwing”.
