ДЕНЬ СВЯТОГО ВАЛЕНТИНА.
Introduction. (Вступительное слово учителя)
Teacher: Love! Happiness! Beauty! There are not so many days in a year when we pronounce these pleasant words. Today you have an excellent chance to plunge into the atmosphere of love and friendship and to learn some interesting information on this special occasion. To make the story clearer to you, let’s pay attention to some words and expressions…(on the blackboard).
So, Happy St. Valentine’s Day!
БЛОК 1. Приветствие. Введение.
Звучит музыка – менуэт Поля Мориа. (Выходят ведущие – 1 пара: юноша и девушка)
Student 1: Good-afternoon, ladies and gentlemen! We are glad to see you!
Student 2: Good-afternoon, dear friends! It’s nice to meet you here, at our St.Valentine’s Day party!
St.1: It’s here again, the day when boys and girls, sweethearts and lovers, husbands and wives, friends and neighbours and even the office staff exchange lovely greetings.
St.2: What kind of holiday is St. Valentine’s Day?
St. 1: Valentine’s Day, the 14th of February, is a day when people give special cards, presents and flowers to those ones they love.
St.2 : This holiday is very popular in Great Britain, the USA and some other European countries.
St.1: And for some recent years it has become popular in Russia too, especially among young people and teenagers.
St.2: But first it was a religious holiday. This customary day has roots in several legends.
And this is one of the stories about St. Valentine and how St. Valentine’s Day began being celebrated.
БЛОК 2. Историческая справка.
Звучит музыка “Ave Maria”. (Выходят ведущие – 2 пара: юноша и девушка)
St.3 : Valentine was a Christian Roman priest who lived in the Roman Empire about 1800 years ago. At that time the Roman Emperor Claudius II needed soldiers for the war. So, he made the law which did not allow Romans to marry. The Emperor thought that marriage made men want to stay at home instead of fighting wars.
St.4: But Valentine disobeyed the law and secretly married young couples when he saw that they were truly in love.
St.3: Then he was discovered, sent to prison and condemned to death. So he died on the 14th of February in 270 AD.
St.4: After his death he was named “Saint Valentine”. People also named him “Patron of Lovers”.
St.3: So, let’s have an imaginary travelling back to that time.
St.4: You are welcome, Patron of Lovers!
БЛОК 3. Инсценировка легенды. Звучит музыка «Dorine».( Выходит священник )
St.5: My children! I’ve come from the distant past to remind you of kindness and love, friendship and patience in this wicked world! I want to take you back to the 1st century when the Roman Emperor Claudius II ruled our country. (Садится за стол, зажигает свечу)
(Выходят юноша и девушка – ведущие, изображая влюблённую пару, падают на колени и жестами умоляют священника обвенчать их; священник выполняет их просьбу.)
G: Oh, Father! We love each other!
B: Please, make us husband and wife!
St. V.: My son, my daughter! I declare you husband and wife!
(Появляется стража – 2 человека)
Priest! You have been discovered and condemned to death!
To prison! To the Tower!
(Уводят священника. Звучит тревожная музыка. – Священник в тюрьме.)
(Входит главный тюремщик со слепой девушкой – дочерью Юлией - ведущие)
Prisoner: Good-morning, Father! I am the chief prisoner. And this is my daughter Julia.
St. V.: What a beautiful girl!
Pr.: But she is blind! She will probably never see the light, the trees, the world! I know, you help people with a prayer. Can you help my daughter?
St. V.: I’ll try to help her by working a miracle!
(делает магические движения руками, читает молитву)
Oh, my Lord! We are your children! Forgive us for everything! Be so kind, make a miracle, let this girl see!
Girl: Oh, Father! I can see now! I’m so grateful to you! Even in prison you, Valentine, has shown your love to everyone and restored my sight.
St. V.: Unfortunatelly, tomorrow I am to die, but I am not scared and I want to tell everybody on earth: “I am your Valentine. I love you, my children. And you should love each other!”
(садится за стол и пишет записку; входят стражники и уводят его)
(Выходят ведущие: юноша и девушка, девушка берёт со стола записку)
G: Just before his death, on February the 14th, he sent Julia a farewell message signed “From your Valentine” and after his death he was declared “Saint Valentine”.
B: We have just been back into the ancient legend. There are many other legends about how St. Valentine’s Day started but no one knows for sure whether any of them are true.
G: Also, there are a lot of traditions of celebrating St. Valentine’s Day in different countries and many symbols are associated with this interesting holiday.______________________________
