In a Bookshop
The shop-assistant: Good afternoon! Can I help you?
Ann: Yes, please. You know, it’s my sister’s birthday tomorrow. I’m looking for a present.
The shop-assistant: What genre does she prefer?
Ann: I can’t say for sure. She reads both serious and light-hearted books.
The shop-assistant: I’d recommend you a classic. Have a look at these books! This book by Charles Dickens is full of interesting characters! And the book of Shakespeare’s plays and sonnets can be a wonderful present too.
Ann: That’s a good idea! She doesn’t read poetry very often. It’ll be something new for her book collection. And I also need to choose a book for her daughter.
The shop-assistant: Well, we have got a lot of fairy tales with pictures, adventure stories and fantasy books.
Ann: Great! I’ll buy this book.
The shop-assistant: OK. Here you are. You should pay at the cash desk.
Ann: Thank you for your advice.
The shop-assistant: You’re welcome.
