  • broaden their knowledge on theme “Environment”

  • speak about various ecological problems, their causes and explore potential solutions for a sustainable future.

Problem Solving Puzzles

Prepare puzzles pieces, each representing a different ecological problem (e.g., water pollution, air pollution, littering, deforestation and other)

Distribute the pieces to students as they enter the class and challenge them to find their matching pieces. Once matched, have each group discuss and research the ecological problem represented by their puzzle.


Begin with a discussion on what students understand about ecology and the environment.

What does the word Ecology mean?

Work with a partner and answer the question.

Students work in pairs and then check with the whole class

Look at the picture of ecological problems. Which of them are present in Kyrgyzstan?

Problem identification gallery walk.

Create a gallery of images representing different ecological problems and hang them around the classroom. Allow students to walk around and match problem. Each student can explain what ecological problem is it, attach the title at the bottom of the picture

Types of ecological problems.

Divide the class into small groups and assign each group a specific ecological problem (e.g., deforestation, pollution, air pollution, water pollution, littering)
