Тема: Going Green 1. Обсуждение темы «Перерабатывающая цепь». Экология. Вторая жизнь вещей.

Цели:обобщить и систематизировать материал по теме Экология;

представить полученные из предыдущих лет знания о процессе переработки (recycling);

рассмотреть конкретный вопрос: цикл переработки (The recycling loops);

развитие навыков диалогической и монологической речи;

развитие навыков творческого письма по теме “Recycling”;

самостоятельная исследовательская работа “How to Make Your Own Recycling Loops” c применением навыков детального чтения аутентичного текста;

развивать познавательные интересы учащихся;

воспитывать интерес к изучению иностранного языка;

воспитывать культуру общения, эстетический вкус;

формировать качества гражданина и патриота;

воспитать нравственные ценности и ориентиры.

Оборудование: УМК "Spotlight"- 10, под редакцией Ю.Е. Ваулиной, Дж. Дули, аудиодополнение, доска, презентация.

Greeting 1.Беседа.

T: Good morning, boys and girls.

 P-s: Good morning, teacher.

 T: I’m glad to see you.

 P-s: We are glad to see you too.

T: Sit down, please. Let’s start our lesson. Answer my questions, please. What date is it today?

Aim 2. Сообщение темы и цели урока.

T: Today we are going to speak about the subject that is known to you from the previous years. Listen to the song and define the subject (SS2 Think Green). Be ready to answer my questions. How does the singer think we can save our planet?

P: “Recycling. The Recycling Loop”.

T: One of the measures to protect the environment is reducing, reusing and recycling. Can you define what recycling means?

Учащиеся дают определение термину “recycling” (фронтальная работа).

P1: Recycling is one of the best ways for you to have a positive impact on the world in which we live.

P2: Recycling is the process of converting waste materials into reusable objects to prevent waste of potentially useful materials.

P3: Recycling is processing used materials (waste) into new, useful products. 

P4: Recycling is important to both the natural environment and us.

T: Place the different recyclable items in the different recycling bins:

Aerosol cans, light bulbs, soft drinks, batteries, egg shells, egg cartons, whisky bottles, potato peel, tea bags, pizza boxes, newspapers, coffee jars, ashes, weeds, supermarket bags, drink cartons, olive oil bottles, shampoo bottles, jam jars.

T: Look at a pie chart. It is used to illustrate the relative proportions of a group of things. Work in pairs. You have some time to look at the pie chart and discuss what makes up our rubbish. Say which of these we recycle.

P1: Rubbish can consist of paper, wood, food, plastic, metal, glass, clothes and other material.

P2: I recycle paper, glass and plastic.

Speaking 3. Развитие монологиеской речи. Exploring the theme and giving a talk about recycling. Ex4, p23.

T: Take cards. Collect information from the cards. Select the points you will present in your speech and make notes. Organise your notes under appropriate headings. This will help you present your speech. You can refer to your notes while speaking.

P1: Man is producing more and more waste and that is why it is so important to recycle as much as possible. Otherwise we will use up all our resources and be overrun with waste and rubbish.

P2: The recycling logo consists of three chasing arrows each representing a stage in the recycling process: rubbish is put in the correct bin, material is collected by recycling trucks, and lastly the consumer buys products made from recycled material.

P3: Some materials such as glass and aluminium can be recycled over and over again so it makes sense to recycle drinks cans and bottles rather than throw them away. You can help by buying recycled products. Clothes, glass products, paper products and much more can all be purchased in recycled varieties. Come on! Help reduce the rubbish by recycling and buying recycled products today!
