The "Going To" Form
Exercise 1 Translate into Russian.
1. Are you going to watch this film? 2. I'm just going to make tea. 3. She is going to travel round the world. 4. Look at the clouds. It's going to rain! 5. We are going to have a party tonight. 6. Alan is driving too fast. He is going to have an accident. 7. Don't think you'll get away with it. This time it's not going to be so easy! 8. Well now, who's going to tell him about it? 9. Pat is going to play Juliet next season. 10. They say this summer is going to be very hot. 11. No one's going to be the first. 12. Someone's going to get into trouble.
Exercise 2 Are you going to do these things tomorrow?
Pattern: get up at 6.30
— I'm not going to get up at 6.30
— I'm going to get up at 6.30
1. buy a new bag; 2. watch TV in the evening; 3. study French; 4. go for a walk in the morning; 5. visit your friends; 6. walk your dog; 7. go to bed early; 8. visit your relatives; 9. fix something; 10. change your lifestyle.
Exercise 3 Make up questions using the words given below.

Exercise 4. Replace the Future Indefinite by to be going to.
1. I'll travel by car this summer. 2. We'll have a test on the use of tenses on Monday. 3. The Parkers will have a picnic lunch in the country on Sunday. 4 Ann will practise the piano all the morning. 5. There will be a storm soon, look at those clouds. 6. They say she'll be married this autumn. 7. I got wet through in yesterday's rain, I think I shall have a cold. 8. She'll clean the flat on Saturday. 9. What will you do when you finish school? 10. We'll see them all in September when they come from the country. 11. Do you like the song? I'll sing it again this evening. 12. What will you do after classes today? 13. I'll take my last exam next Monday. 14. The article isn't very long; he will translate it tonight. 15. My friend is leaving tomorrow. She says she'll write to me every week.
Exercise 5 Imagine that you have won a lot of money. Tell your groupmates what you are going to do with it. Let them ask you additional questions.
Exercise 6 Imagine that you are going to have a party. Let your groupmates ask you questions about the number of the guests, their names, the meal etc.
