Contest of Sherlock Holmes

Цели:

- усилить мотивацию к изучению иностранных языков,

– способствовать практическому владению речевой деятельностью,

– увеличивать активный языковой запас учащихся,

– стимулировать в целом их интеллектуальную и языковую активность,

– расширять общий кругозор школьников,

– повышать их культурный уровень,

– развивать творческие способности детей.

Оборудование: карточки с заданиями, зашифрованные высказывания, призы.

Ход конкурса

T: Good afternoon, everybody! We are very happy to see you here, at our competition. It’ll show us your achievements in English. I wish you a success. Be active, honest, and optimistic. Now it’s time to introduce yourselves. I want the captains to come here and show us the emblems and the names of the teams.

1.A French engineer tells Napoleon about his idea. He wants to build it and link France and England. Napoleon doesn’t like the idea. He wants to fight with England. But project begins later. This project costs ten billion pounds. At last the project is finished in 1994, the British and French builders shake hands.
