           Современные условия развития общества определяются активным расширением связей нашей страны с другими государствами. Молодому человеку, вступающему в жизнь, необходимо, помимо владения иностранным языком, хорошо знать условия жизни и развития, круг проблем, традиции, обычаи и реалии той страны, язык которой он изучает. Поэтому в основе данного курса заложен лингвострановедческий принцип, направленный на раскрытие и объяснение специфических черт британского и американского образов жизни, истории и культуры средствами русского и английского языков и данных, полученных из писем зарубежных сверстников.

           Для расширения кругозора и эрудиции  в программе клуба заложена возможность активизировать умственную деятельность путем проведения различных соревнований, викторин, конкурсов и участия в коммуникационных  проектах.

           У учащихся формируется умение участвовать в различного рода мероприятиях и видах деятельности, способствующих пониманию национально-культурных особенностей народа стран изучаемого языка и воспитывающих уважение к нему.

           Основной целью работы Клуба Интернациональной Дружбы  ”Новая  волна” является содействие формированию общественно-политической активности учащихся, приобщению их к патриотическим и интернациональным традициям народов Российской Федерации, а также развитие способностей школьников к общению на английском языке и формирование толерантности по отношению к жизни зарубежных сверстников.

              В этой связи комплексная цель, направленная на воспитание, образование и развитие личности учащихся конкретизируется в данном курсе кружковой работы следующим образом:

1.  Развитие познавательных интересов учащихся в области страноведения и интереса к жизни зарубежных сверстников в странах изучаемого языка.

2.   Расширение страноведческого кругозора учащихся и их эрудиции.   

3. Установление дружеских связей с учащимися других стран путем переписки по электронной почте.

4. Подготовка учащихся к участию в межкультурном общении на иностранном языке.

5. Воспитание сознательного мотивированного отношения к изучению иностранного языка, толерантности по отношению к своим сверстникам за рубежом, потребность в практическом использовании иностранного языка..

Содержание и формы работы.

1.  КИД организует среди школьников изучение и пропаганду: - истории нашей многонациональной Родины и Поволжского края; - деятельности детских и юношеских организаций зарубежных стран; - истории, культуры и искусства народов стран изучаемого иностранного языка. 2.  КИД организует: - переписку с зарубежными школьниками по почте и электронной почте; - изучение работы с компьютером в «интернете»; - изучение правил оформления и написания разных видов писем; - участие учащихся в коммуникационных викторинах; - участие школьников в различных интернациональных акциях.

Основная работа  в клубе осуществляется по нескольким направлениям: клуб страноведения, английский клуб, исторический клуб и клуб путешественников.

We are  happy to see you in the presentation of our Club of International Friendship “New wave”. As you know in Dimitrovgrad City there is a construction of an innovative nuclear cluster which not only attracts the attention of the  Russian public but draws the attention of other countries as well. The significance of world attention on our city inspired us to create a new international frienship club comprised of students from our school. Today we welcome you at our gymnasium and thank you for participating in the opening ceremony of our club “New Wave”.This event dedicated to the commencement of our new endeavor makes our club official..  Today our honourable guest is ............................ and now he will share with us a few words.

Hello,

My name is Lera Malanina, and I’m elected Presedent of our International Club “New Wave”. Our Club is the positive place for young people who want to be active and change our life to the best. Here you can get a chance to practise many different skills in a setting that is more like a real life.

We’ve been thinking for a long time what name to give to our Club and came to the common conclusion “New wave” because it’s a new and  fresh  tendency to unite people of different belief, skin, religion and outlook together. Our motto Is “We are Different But We Are Together”.

The main objectives of our Club are:

- Establishment of friendly relationships with students from other countries using electronic mail (email) -Training students to participate in intercultural communication, using writing skills in English. -Expanding the conception of country-specific studies and knowledge of students.

- Training students to have well-grounded deliberate approach to foreign languages, tolerance towards their peers in countries abroad, the necessity in the practical use of foreign languages.

As any other organisation we have our own emblem and code.

I should say that we are real patriots of Russia that’s why our code sounds like that: “We believe.......”

Taking all these things into account we define our Mission “The mission.....”

The code of our conduct and life is “respect ......”

The club of international frienship is a voluntary, independent and not commercial organisation set up by students. The structure of our government is the following : president is responsible and control the work of all bodies of the club; vice-president helps to organise out-of-school activities in Culture center, Educational center and Press center . We’ve got 4 clubs “The club of young travellers”, “English Club”, the Club of country specific studies “Columbus” and “The Historical Club”.

In spite of the fact that “New wave” is a very young club it has already found its friends in  England, Manchester  “The Russian Center”, in the USA, Maryville “Middle Union Grove”, the USA, Macon “Wesleyan College”, Germane,Veimer.

The members of the New wave Club are taking part in international projects and competions, such as “Landmark Game”, “Stop The Global Warming! (what is my ecological footprint”, “Green Earth”.

Today we are not big in number, but I’m sure that some day we’ll have a huge membership. You are welcome to our club.

English Club

I’m the leader of the English Club. There 16 members in it. Our Ehglish Club is a place for language learners to use English in a casual setting. Practising your skills in the classroom is important but it is not like in a real life. In the English club, you get a chance to practise many different skills in a setting. Though your English teacher understands your English, your English Club friends will require you to speak more clearly and listen more carefully.

Starting an English Club is a great way to make new lasting friendships. It’s important to have good ESL friends because your confidence will increase if you do it. You will feel more comfortable using English around people you trust and have fun with.

Our introductory meeting was held in September where we put one member in charge of being the leader. Our English Club has an “English only” rule. Some clubs fail because they expect too much of their members. It’s hard to find time to commit to something outside school. Meeting once a term for about two hours is a good start.

Our English Club is designed for those who want to improve their English in all skill arears. This year’s subject is comparative analysis of English and Russian Literature.

Our first two settings were devoted to art of speaking and translation  and to comparative analysis  Lewis Carroll’s book “Alice in wonderland” and Nabokov’s “Аня в стране чудес”. We not only studied the texts but tried to compare the system of names, proverbs and sayings, dates and verses in both books. We interviewed the book characters, set up a ball and performed some scenes on the stage.

Now we’re going to show you what we’ve learned. We hope it will stand out in your memory quit vividly for a long time.

A: What a funny watch is it? It tells the day of the month, and doesn’t tell what o’clock it is!

H: Why should it. Does your watch tell you what year it is?

A: Of course not, but that’s because it stays  the same year for such a long time together.

H: What just the case with mine

A: I think you might do something better with the time than wasting it in asking riddles that have no answers.

H: If you know Time as well as I do, yuo wouldn’t talk about wasting it. It’s HIM

A: I don’t know what you mean.

H: Of course, you don’t. I dare say you never ever spoke to TIME!

A: Perhaps not, but I know I have to beat time when I learn music.

H: Ah! That accounts for it. He won’t stand beating. Now, if you only kept on good terms with him, he’d do almost anything you liked with the clock. For instance, suppose it were nine o’clock in the morniong, just time to begin lessons: you’d only have to whisper a hint to Time, and round goes the clock in a twikling! Half past one, time for dinner!

A: That would be grand , certainly but then – I shouldn’t be hungry for it, you know.

H:  not at first, perhaps but you could keep it to half-past one as long as you liked.

A: Is that the way you manage?

H: Not I, we quarrelled last March – just before He went mad, you know, it was at the great concert given by the Queen of the Heart, and I had to sing

  Twinkle, twinkle, little bat!

How I wonder what you are at?

You know the song, perhaps.

A: I have heart something kike it.

H: It goes on, you know

Dimitrovgrad in  Russia and International Community

We are the members of the Historical Club. The main aim of our activity is to enrich our outlook not only in history of other countries but to develop our knowledge about the place we live in.  We carried out research into the history of Dimitrovgrad and its role in  Russian and Internatinal Community. What is modern Dimitrovgrad? First of all, Dimitrovgrad is a the town of scientists and intellectuals. It is a member of the Union of Russian Towns.

Dimitrovgrad has always been noted for its unique atmosphere of creativity, the ability to develop at the time of change and the openness to the new things.

Our town is the member of the Volga Accord project. The town became the pilot site of the Volga Federation District’s project for the formation of the civil sociaty. The town has 130 active public organisations and associations.

Dimitrovgrad is the participant of the contest “ The most Comfortable Town of Russia”, has three special government  awards and in 2006 ranked as the winner of the third place in the contest.

Dimitrovgrad is the member of the Union Of Science  Town of Russia. The basis of the economy of Dimitrovgrad consists  of the powerful scientific and research facilities. The innovation represents the core of the strategy of Dimitrovgrad as a science town. A seperate item in the Science Town program is the creation in the town of the Center of high  medical technologies and the construction of an innovative nucler cluster which not only attracts the attention of the Russian public but draws the attention of other countries as well. The  Research Institute of Atomic Reactors is known all over the world. Today the Institute supplies to the national market over 50 kinds of radionuclide products used by pharmacological plants for producing medicine. The Research Institute cooperate with different coutries of the world, such as Germany, America, China, Japan, Iran,  Korea, Poland, France.,. Bulgaria.

Dimitrovgrad is a participant of the international Healthy Town program under the aegis (под эгидой) of the World Health Organisation. The creative commutity projects of Dimitrograd enabled the accreditation in the European network of the  World Health Organisation refers as  “Healthy Cities”.

Dimitrograd was awarded with the title of the Cultural Capital of the Volga Region of 2004. It became the birthplace of many innovative projects in the area of culture and art. The town’s slogan is “The cultural capital for ever”.  Dimitrovgrad has many achivements in the nation-wide and international contests and festivals.

Back in 1982 by the decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR Dimitrovgrad was awarded with  the order of Friendship among the peoples. It has seven twin-cities in Russia and abroad: Obninsk (Russia), Aleksin (Russia), Drogobych (Ukraine), Lida (Belorussia), Kairakum (Tajikistan), Kuznetsk (Penza oblast), and Dimitrovgrad (Bulgaria).

Dimitrovgrad is the sports capital of Ulyanovsk region. Its sport achievements are known not only in Russia but in the whole world. Alex Katrenko is the world champion in biotlon, Stas Donez is the champion of Europe in swimming, Alexsand Yashanin – the world champion in body-building. Olesya Byk became the world champion and Natash Nekhozhina won the gold medal in  the European Forum in gymnastics. We can give a lot of examples about our achievements.

In conclusion, we want to say  that our research work hasn’t been over yet.  We are still young and we have time to conduct our further reseach.

Идея создания клуба интернациональной дружбы “Новая волна”  городской гимназии возникла не случайно. В нашем городе идет активное развитие инновационных проектов корпорации РосАтом в области ядерной энергетики и медицины, которые базируются на научных разработках Научно-исследовательского Института Атомных Реакторов. Одним из приоритетных направлений ядерного кластера Ульяновской  области в сфере молодежной политики  стала поддержка талантливой творческой молодежи. С целью подготовки будущих специалистов ядерной отрасли в г.Димитровграде открыт  филиал Национального Исследовательского Ядерного Университета МИФИ -  Димитровградский инженерно-технологический институт.

             НИЯУ  МИФИ в 2011  году проводит Олимпиады по химии и иностранному языку, которые   являются одними из базовых мероприятий по отбору талантливой молодежи для формирования кадрового резерва атомной отрасли РФ. Основными целями и задачами Олимпиад являются выявление одаренных школьников, ориентированных на инженерно-технические специальности, способных к техническому творчеству и инновационному         мышлению, проявляющих интерес к химии применительно к атомной отрасли, а также выявление и развитие у обучающихся средних образовательных учебных заведений творческих способностей и интереса к изучению иностранного языка с применением его в развитии инновационных ядерных технологий на всероссийском и международном уровнях.

             Разработки студентов – это начало работ международного уровня, которые требуют не только профессиональных знаний в области ядерной физики, но  и  языковых знаний, опыта общения с зарубежными коллегами. Многие школьники города без сомнений станут студентами нашего института и  наш КИД “Новая волна”  станет  для них первой ступенью международного общения. Английский, немецкий и французский языки, представленные направлениями изучения клуба  - это наиболее активно используемые языки в международном сотрудничестве ядерного кластера. 

          Наш город, как культурная столица Поволжья, имеет богатый опыт межкультурного общения. КИД  “Новая волна” предоставляет возможность общения творческой молодежи разных стран, организации  диалога культур и реализации творческих проектов в различных сферах деятельности.
