Урок 13. Bookworms

Цели: организовать деятельность учащихся по повторению грамматического времени Past Simple; способствовать развитию навыков говорения по теме «Знаменитые писатели и любимые герои книг», навыков продуктивного письма.

Оборудование: грамматические таблицы Past Simple; карточки с именами литературных персонажей для проведения игры; ил­люстрации по теме урока.

Ход урока

(Учитель организует взаимопроверку выполнения упражне­ний в рабочей тетради. Ответы записаны на доске.)

• Did you read any detective novel about Inspector Morse? Which one?

(Учитель объясняет правила игры.)

• Let’s play a new game. It’s called “Who am I?”. In this box I’ve got the names of some fictional characters. They’re from the books you’ve read. I’ll call one of you out to the front. Come here, Dima. You’ll be the first to start. Stand with your back to me. Now, I’m pinning on your back the name of a character. And you have to guess who you are. You can ask any questions except of course the name of the character. You can’t ask: “Am I Harry Potter?” You can ask questions like, for example:

• Am I a boy or a girl?

• How old am I?

• Where do I live? Etc.

(Учащиеся отвечают на вопросы, но не делают подсказок. Учитель помогает по мере необходимости.)

• Today we’re going to practise using the Past Simple. Open your books at page 16. Find the regular and irregular past forms in the texts about the famous writers.

irregular: was, caught, sent, had, wrote.)

• Let’s revise how Past Simple forms of regular and irregular verbs are formed and when this tense is used. Open your books at page GR2.

(Ученики читают правила образования и употребления Past Simple. Учитель комментирует текст и приводит дополнительные примеры, если необходимо. На доске таблицы.)

(Перед выполнением задания учитель предлагает ученикам сформулировать вопросы, которые они будут задавать друг другу, например:

• What kind of books do you like reading?

• Who’s yourfavourite author?

• Do you know anything about this writer?

• Where/When was he born ?

• Where did he live ? Etc.

Учащиеся выполняют задание в парах. Учитель помогает по мере необходимости. Затем задает вопросы нескольким ученикам.)

• Do you like reading the same books?

• What did you leam about Lena’s favourite books?

• Would you like to read these books?

Упр. 9 (с. 17).

(Учитель объясняет, как написать статью о любимом писателе для школьной газеты, напоминает структуру статьи и обращает внимание на план.)

• You should make notes before writing.

(В качестве примера учитель может предложить написать oJl. Кэрролле.)

Предполагаемый текст статьи:

Lewis Carroll was the pen-name of Charles L. Dodgson. He was born in England in 1832. He studied mathematics at Oxford and later taught this subject in the same college. Charles Dodgson didn’t have a family but he often visited his friend, who had three daughters. They liked listening to Dodgson’s stories because he had a great imagination. The youngest sister was Alice Liddell. She became the main character of the books “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland” and “Through the Looking-Glass and What Alice Found There”. Alice is a very smart and curious girl. She meets a lot of weird creatures but she always treats them politely and friendly.
