Тема урока: Взгляд в будущее (Predictions)

Цели:

Образовательная: научить учащихся рассказывать о будущих событиях, делать предсказания, спрашивать и высказывать предположения о будущей жизни;

Развивающая: развитие умения прогнозировать содержание текста, умения вести диалог-обмен мнениями;

развитие умений поискового чтения;

развитие навыков аудирования;

Воспитательная: воспитывать культуру общения;

Планируемые результаты:

- личностные: формирование ответственного отношения к учению, готовности к саморазвитию и самообразованию; формирование коммуникативной компетентности в общении и сотрудничестве со сверстниками.

- метапредметные: умение работать в группе, строить логические рассуждения, умозаключения, уметь адекватно и осознано использовать речевые средства в соответствии с  задачей коммуникации; читать текст с целью поиска конкретной информации.

- предметные: уметь говорить о событиях, которые произойдут в будущем, уметь употреблять Future Simple ; развивать умения изучающе-поискового чтения, систематизировать знания и на их основе составлять собственное монологическое  высказывание.

Тип урока: урок «открытия» нового знания.

Ход урока

I.Организационный момент

T: Goodmorning, children! I’m glad to see you. Sit down, please. Let’s start our lesson.

P: Good morning, teacher! We are glad to see you too.

II. Вводнаябеседа

T: Today we are going to start a new module. Let`s have a look at the title of this Module. What is the title of the Module?

P: What the future holdsT: What does it mean? What do you think? ( слайд 1)

P: What life will be like in the future?

P: What will happen in the future?

T: We`ll speak about our future life, discuss some predictions about the future, what life will be  like in 2100, learn how to make predictions about the future. ( слайд 2)

By the way, what does «prediction» mean?

P: It means what you think will happen in the future

III. Введение новой лексики

1. T: Look at the blackboard and read the words (слайд 3-4)

special suits- специальные костюмы

glass domes- стеклянные купола

flying cars- летающие машины

underwater cities- подводные города

robotic housemaids- робот домохозяйка

be so polluted- быть загрязнённым

exist- существовать

moon shuttle- лунный вездеход

have enough money- иметь достаточно денег

believe- верить

traffic jams- пробки

fuel- топливо

cause pollution- вызывать загрязнение

IV. Работа с текстом  

1. ex.1, p.46

(развитие умения прогнозировать содержание текста)

T: Look at the pictures and the texts by schoolchildren. How are they related to the title of the unit?

P:Both pictures and the text relate to life in the future.

T: There are predictions about the future.

Look at the pictures on p.46. What can you see in the pictures?( Слайд5- 8)

P1: Picture1: glass domes, underwater cities

P2: Picture2:  robotic housemaids

P3: Picture3:  special suits

P4: Picture4:  flying cars

T: Read the texts and choose the best answer

VI. Повторение образования и употребления FutureSimple. Освоение структуры придаточных предложений времени и условия. Отработка в речи FutureSimple в утвердительной, вопросительной и отрицательной формах. (Слайд 10-14)

1. НАДОСКЕ:What will life be like in the future?

I think life will be very different in the future.

T: Look at the blackboard and read the sentences. What tense do we use to make predictions?

P: We use Future Simple.

T: We use will to make predictions about the future based on what we think or imagine. We often begin our sentence with the words: I think, I`m sure, I believe.

Example: I think life will be very different in 2100.

T:We use the present simple after if and when, not the future simple.

If/when + present simple

If/ When I go to Spain, I will take lots of photographs.

T: Work in pairs. Ask and answer questions.

Pair 1:

A: Will people drive flying cars?

B: Yes, I think people will drive flying cars. There will be no traffic jams.

Pair 2:

A: Will computers talk?

B: Yes, I think computers will talk.

Pair 3:

A: Will time travel be common?

B: No, I don’t think time travel will be common.

Pair 4:

A: Will people live in underwater cities?

B: No, I don’t think people will live in underwater cities.

T: Read the sentences and put the verbs in brackets in the correct tense. (Check answers.)

P1: invent, won’t pollute

P3: has, will buy

P4: exercise, will feel

VII.Аудирование с целью получения заданной информации ex.6, p.47 ( слайд 16)

T: Listen to John making predictions about future. Read the sentences first to have an idea of what information you should listen for. Listen and fill in the sentences.

VIII. Фразовый глагол (look) a) НАДОСКЕ: ( слайд 17)-18)

look after – take care of

look forward to – wait for with pleasure

look up – search for in a book

look for - search

T: Explain the meaning of the phrasal verbs.

(Ss use their dictionaries to look up the phrasal verbs if it is necessary and the theory presented on the board)

1. T: искать что-либо в справочнике- lookup

заботиться о ком-либо, присматривать за кем-либо: look after

ждать чего-либо с нетерпением- look forward to

искать - look for

1. T: Complete the sentences with the correct phrasal verb in the correct tense.

(Ss compare answers. Check answers.)

IX. Итог. Рефлексия.

T: Think of several words you have learnt at the lesson. Use them to make your own sentences about future life.

What tense do we use to make predictions about the future? What tense do we use after if and when?

X. Домашнеезадание.( слайд 19-21)

  T: What are your predictions for the future? You can use ideas from Ex.1 as well as your own to write a short text similar to the ones on p. 46. You can drawpictures.
