Look! Jack is milking the cow. (Джек доит корову)

When we speak about a PROCESS, we use the Present Continuous Tense.

Time-markers for Present Continuous:

now, at the moment, at present, Look!, Listen!

Jack is milking the cow now.

Jack milks the cow every day. (Джек стоит, над его головой облачко с мыслями о том, что он доит корову)

When we speak about REGULAR ACTIONS, we use the Present Simple Tense.

Time-markers for Present Simple:

every day, usually, often, always, on Fridays

Albert goes to the cinema on Fridays.

He is studying grammar at present.

(Альберт с рюкзаком держит в руке расписание, в котором Grammar стоит каждый день)

He studies grammar every day.

If you are planning to do something in the future, you also use Present Continuous.

Jack is visiting Albert next week.

He is planning to do it.

Albert is leaving London tomorrow.

He is sure that he’ll leave. He has got a ticket.

Jack is waiting for Albert. Albert is leaving the big city to visit a countryside. Let’s wish them good luck!

- Тематическая лексика по теме «Вселенная и человек. Природа: флора и фауна. Проблемы экологии. Защита окружающей среды. Климат, погода. Уcловия проживания в городской/сельской местности. Транспорт»: feed, milk, close at hand, constant noise and pollution, convenient public transport, crowded streets, high/low cost of living, high quality lifestyle, high/low rate of unemployment, hustle and bustle, peace and quiet.
- Прилагательные, обозначающие эмоциональное состояние, образованные от глаголов с помощью суффикса -ed: relaxed, stressed, worried, isolated.
- Present Simple употребляется, когда речь идет о постоянных действиях, законах природы, привычных и повседневных действиях, расписаниях и чувствах и эмоциях.
- Указатели времени, употребляемые с Present Simple: usually, often, always, every day/week/month/year, in the morning/afternoon/evening. at night, at the weekend, on Fridays.
- Present Continuous употребляется, когда речь идет о действиях, происходящих в данный момент речи, о запланированных действиях в будущем, в меняющихся и развивающихся ситуациях, с такими наречиями, как always, для выражения эмоционального состояния по поводу повторяющегося действия.
- Указатели времени, употребляемые с Present Continuous: now, at the moment, at present, these days, nowadays, still, today, tonight, Look!, Listen!
