Procedure:
Warmer:
Ask pupils to think of a romantic place they like in Kerch, describe and ask each other to guess what place it is (on the bus to the center of the city).According to the presentation compare the places of ancient and modern Kerch. Finally, ask them to tell what places our Kerch is rich for.
Reflection:
(in the center of the town)Ask pupils to tell each other about their experience of using lesson plans (reasons why we are in the center of the town), then discuss it in group
.
Brainstorm:
(in Dubinin Square)
I. Teacher asks pupils: a) What can you tell miss Aerin about our city:
Quiet – noisy places
Clean – dirty\populated streets
Cheap – expensive building
Modern – old shops\hotels\restaurants
Exiting – boring city\nightlife
b)Kerch is the city of Angels, isn’t it?
Answer the questions:
Where can you stay in Kerch? What is so special about these places?
Which places can you visit?
Where can you eat?
Where can you go shopping?
Where can you spend the evening? What can you do?
c) Lets compare the two places (Kerch and LA)
\e.g. LA is nosier than Kerch. LA is more expensive than Kerch\
d) Represent advantages and disadvantages of living in Kerch, show their own likes and dislikes
\e.g. “Kerch is my native city, it’s the place where I was born. To someone else it can look pretty grey and dull, but for me everything here reminds me of my childhood. Of course, in such a small town everybody knows each other and, of course, it can be both advantage and disadvantage at the same time. No need to use cell phone – you can always meet someone and talk to him/here. On the other hand, there are only few places where you can hide from people. If talking about prices – Kerch was more expensive then it should be. The prices are higher then they are in some bigger cities. But since you know everybody, they all can make a discount for you.”\
e) Teacher asks pupils to show their romantic places (after the discussion in the bus)
\e.g. “And now, if you let me, I’ll show you my special place. You all know, how old our town is, how many places it has. But there s one place that is so special for me. I have a lot of things to bring out from my memory, when I’m there enjoying the city view. I’m talking about the Mitridat Mountain. It is a place where the legend of our native place comes from. You all know it. It tells us about old King Mitridat, the war he started and the way he died. But for me this place reflexes all the evidences that took place here. For example, my first date, my daughters’ first concert…” \
II. Excursion: 1. Dubinin’s Square
2. Kozlova street
3. Leninskaya Square
4. Old streets of the Mitridat Mountain
5. ancient excavations
6. ancient town of Pantikapaion\Panticapeos
7. city view from the top
During the excursion pupils describe what it is on the way to Mitridat Mountain. Students discuss pictures and places inside of their group.
\e.g. “How beautiful it is here, I’m enjoying our excursion. It’s putty, there are not that much left for us to see. Oh, I can hardly imagine how it all looked like 20 centuries ago. But while walking around this ancient city we can pretend to be people of that time. I wonder, how they communicated to each other, what they considered to the most romantic place.”\
(This activity must create a desire to communicate within the students. That is, even though speaking is forced on the students, they must feel a real need to communicate)
III. a) Pupils: which is the oldest place in our town? What do you know about Pantikapaion\Panticapeos
b) Role play: Teacher suggests to touch the column of Pantikapaion\Panticapeos and imagine the scenes from that ancient times.
(pupils: If I were here, I would…)

IV. Conclusion.
Teacher asks pupils to tell their impression about the lesson, what they feel about their city, if there are some new romantic places they have discovered for themselves. All the pupils shared the opinion that they live in the most beautiful and romantic place in the world.
